Lincoln Award – Apply

This is the final stage of the Lincoln Award and focuses your development so far on the recruitment process.  You need to complete all the elements below and pass the Assessment Centre to complete the award.

CV Review Tool

Put your CV through our CV Review Tool. This tool uses AI technology to read your CV and provide instant feedback.  Many employers use Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) which apply this technology.

We recommend you keep working on the feedback suggestions until your CV is showing as ‘Ready’ . To evidence, please upload a screenshot of your feedback on your Lincoln Award digital pathway.

Skills Assessment Review

Please retake your Skills Assessment on CareerLinc and follow the steps below;

  • Log-in to CareerLinc using your University username and password.
  • Click on ‘Skills’ on the menu bar and select ‘Retake Assessment’
  • There are 30 definitions, and you simply choose the statement most relevant to each.
  • Once you have completed the Skills Assessment, please take a screen shot of your results summary diagram and upload this on your pathway on CareerLinc.

Preparing for the Assessment Centre

This 1-hour long group session will prepare you for the Assessment Centre Experience.  It will focus on how to approach activities and provide suggestions and tips for maximising your score.  This is a live session, and you can book this through your digital pathway on CareerLinc.

To complete the Lincoln Award, you must meet the pass criteria at one of our assessment centres.  We provide assessment centres throughout the year, so you won’t ever have too long to wait when you are ready to finish. Each of our Assessment Centres is partnered with an employer to ensure you have the most realistic experience. Please check the upcoming dates and further information for assessment centres below.

Dates for the assessment centre this academic year:

  • Tuesday November 4th at 1pm-4:30pm
  • Wednesday December 10th at 1pm-4:30pm
  • Tuesday March 3rd at 1pm-4:30pm
  • Tuesday May 12th at 1pm-4:30pm
  • Wednesday June 10th at 1pm-4:30pm
  • Tuesday July 7th at 1pm-4:30pm

  • These are all bookable now through your digital pathway on CareerLinc. If you have any issues booking please email us by clicking here and we will be happy to help.

    Information you will need to complete a Lincoln Award Assessment Centre;

    • All our Assessment Centres are delivered online- you will need access to the internet
    • Each of our Assessment Centres is partnered with an employer to provide a realistic experience
    • You will be sent a preparation email 7 days before the event- preparation will be for context and not any particular tasks
    • 1 day before the event, you will be sent an email with times and joining links for all activities
    • You will be assessed using our Lincoln Award scoring criteria
    • Please be available for the whole Assessment Centre time
    • You will receive feedback afterwards by email (within 7 days) on a Lincoln Award feedback summary sheet
    • Staff from the Careers team will be available live by email and by phone for the duration of the Assessment Centre to answer any questions.
