Connect with the Curriculum

Connect with our students and academic colleagues across 4 large Colleges; Arts, Social Science, Science and Lincoln’s International Business School. Employers can set real life industry challenges, offer industry insights and opportunities to shape and inform student learning.

Co-Delivery with Academics and Career Professionals in the Career Readiness Programme

Careers & Employability have developed a Career Readiness Model which helps students to reflect on how prepared they are for life after university. In these curriculum sessions students will be able to evaluate their preparedness, identify their next steps and access a range of specifically created resources to support their development.

We are currently looking for employers and alumni to support in two types of  curriculum sessions running October – May across all our schools.

For Employers – Raise Awareness of Future Skills with Final Year Students (1 hour face to face session)

Co-deliver this 1 hour session ‘Preparing for the Future and Career Resilience’ with a Careers & Employability Adviser to raise your profile and engage with a high number of final year students looking towards their next steps.  In this session students will plan for aspirational goals, build career resilience, prioritise time and act on their next steps. We will cover career resilience including industry-led advice around researching future skills and strategies for lifelong career planning.

For Alumni – Raise Awareness of the Importance of Graduate Networks (1 hour session)

Do you have a University of Lincoln graduate in your organisation that may be interested in co-delivering a session?

In this 1 hour session the Careers & Employability Adviser will support second year students to discover their networks and explore the importance of developing networks, including engaging with our graduates. To further prepare students for joining a graduate network we would like to invite alumni to co-deliver the session. This includes a Q&A and top tips regarding what you wish you’d known as a student. This could be face to face or online; further logistics to be discussed with the relevant Careers Adviser.

Curriculum: Industry Insight Scheme

A variety of our programmes include modules giving students the opportunity to learn about real life industry challenges. We work with employers to understand the module outcomes and align a suitable industry project. This will be co-delivered with our academic teams to help you get access to creative ideas and solutions. For these challenges you will need to be available for a minimum of 3 hours to present the challenge and provide feedback on student-led solutions.
