Time to talk about your mental health and your career journey

3 February, 4:00 pm - 5:15 pm

This online event is being offered as part of an East Midlands collaboration with other local university Careers and Employability Services, offering tailored events and opportunities to those with disabilities.

Join us for an empowering session focused on supporting disabled and neurodivergent students, and those experiencing mental health or wellbeing challenges, as they prepare for life after university.

You will hear from our three speakers who will explore practical strategies for building resilience and confidence during the job search, handling rejection, and staying motivated. We’ll also discuss how to access workplace support, ask for adjustments and access wellbeing resources once you start your career journey.

We will cover the following :

  • Practical Tips for resilience and confidence – Guidance from Greg Garden, Senior Mental Health Advisor at University of Lincoln, on managing stress, boosting confidence, and staying resilient during applications and interviews.
  • Workplace wellbeing strategies – Insights from Kate Wood, Wellbeing Manager at Derby University, on developing wellbeing strategies in the workplace.
  • Lived experience – Hear from a recent university graduate who has successfully navigated the transition from university to work while managing mental health challenges.

This event is open to all University of Lincoln students as well as students from the following institutions; University of Nottingham, Loughborough University, Nottingham Trent, Derby University, De Montfort University and University of Leicester.
