East Midlands Conversations: Applying for work with a disability

Join us for this online event where students can hear from a range of speakers with disabilities about their own personal challenges and experiences relating to their disability and employability. This will include asking for adjustments during recruitment and in the workplace as well as how to positively promote disability with employers. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions to our panel members and get some useful tips and resources!
This online event is being offered as part of a new East Midlands collaboration with other local university Employability and Careers Services, offering tailored events and opportunities to those with disabilities. .

This event is open to all NTU students as well as students from the following institutions; University of Nottingham, Loughborough University, University of Lincoln, Derby University and De Montfort University.
Aim: To hear from a range of speakers, including alumni, students (?) and staff across a number of local universities, who will be sharing personal experiences and overcoming challenges in the workplace.
What we will be covering:
- Hear from our speakers about their experiences around managing their disability in the recruitment process and at work.
- Identifying positive changes that can be made in the workplace.
- Top tips and advice around sharing information about a disability and asking for adjustments.
- Highlighting useful resources and the support available for you at your university.
- Opportunity to ask questions and seek further support.
