Student Experiences Focus Group- Mental Health and Disability

26th April 2023, 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Many students don’t identify with the word ‘disabled’ but may still be entitled to support and protection under the Equality Act (2010). Are you an undergraduate student who has experienced a physical or mental impairment, or a mental health condition for longer than 12 months? If so, we want to learn about your experiences of using the Careers & Employability Service by taking part in our upcoming focus group.

Why attend?

  • Improve your consulting skills by offering information and advice to the University
  • Enhance our services and ensure the support meets your needs
  • Hear from a TEDx Speaker about their experiences and reflect on how you view your health condition or disability
  • Receive a £10 Love2Shop voucher for your participation

This focus group is only open to undergraduate students with a disability, long term health condition, mental health condition, or chronic illness. For this focus group, the Equality Act 2010 definition of disability is being used: ‘You are disabled under the Equality Act (2010) if you have a physical or mental impairment that has a ‘substantial’ and ‘long-term’ negative impact on your ability to do normal daily activities.
