Teach First – Diversity in Education Panel Event

October 21 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Our challenge is to unlock the potential in all our children, not just some. Together we’re working to create a culture where everyone, from any background, can do their best work. On our graduate training programme, we’ll support you to perform, grow and contribute with the confidence to be yourself. There is a significant underrepresentation of ethnic minority teachers in the classroom, and this absence is even more stark in school leadership positions.

Every young person should have an education that acknowledges and celebrates the achievements of people from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities. We believe every young person should also understand the roots of oppression and how these remain entangled in our society and systems today.

We’re proud of what we’ve achieved so far but we know there’s a long way to go. Teach First are committed to recruiting a diverse cohort of teachers that represent the communities in which we serve and continuing to advocate for all pupils to have an education enriched by diversity.

Join our panel event to hear from of our current trainees and ambassadors about their personal experience of teaching on our graduate programme and their career since. Please note, this webinar is specifically aimed at people who have graduated in 2021 or are still at university.

This panel will be discussing the importance of BAME teachers in the classroom but is open to anyone who wants to come along and learn more. Please sign up by clicking the link and we will send you detailed instructions on how to join the webinar the day before the event.
