Celebrating the Ambassador Year in China Scheme for Lincoln Graduates

A new graduate scheme launched, exclusively for University of Lincoln graduates

Ambassador Year in China

The University of Lincoln and Ambright have launched a new graduate scheme, tailored to the needs and interests of talented Lincoln graduates.

Lincoln-AYC is a 10-month graduate cultural exchange and teaching programme for Lincoln graduates.

Following workshops delivered by the Careers and Employability and the Go Global team in April and May students will attend a welcome conference on arrival in Shanghai provided by Ambright local colleagues. They will then teach in Thomas Schools of China, located in Shanghai, Jinan, Hefei and Nanjing.

As they represent Lincoln they will explore Chinese culture, learn Mandarin with in-person support and complete a TEFL training and certification. Students will also receive a monthly salary (approx. £900), housing, travel allowance and health insurance.

In addition, the University will remain in contact with the students during their time in China. They will be able to access the full range of digital careers and employability support with bespoke sessions built around the time zones.

The programme was launched on 1st December, and 28 students have expressed an interest in taking part. They will now have interviews with AYC in February.
