Emily’s Graduate Story

Emily studied Psychology at Lincoln, and has secured a place on a Social Science Secondary Teaching PGCE course in order to continue her studies and start her career in teaching. She used the Careers & Employability service to get advice about her options and help with her UCAS Teacher Training application.

I attended a drop in session, and had a few meetings with an advisor. Imogen assisted me with the whole application process, from amending my personal statement to practicing responses for potential interview questions. Imogen was extremely helpful, making me feel far more confident about the whole application process. As a result I was able to approach my interview with confidence and an idea of what to expect. I was offered a place on the course I had applied for.

When applying for courses or jobs after your undergraduate degree, go to the careers service for some advice. If you are unsure of the application/interview process or if you are uncertain of your pathway after University, do not hesitate to stop by at a drop-in session. The staff are really lovely and there to help. The careers service can support and provide you with all the information you need.
