Activity Guidelines

This section of the website is devoted to live Q&A sessions with our own advisers or external employers. We will promote the Live Q&A’s in advance and you can also access session archives below.

When you attend your Pathway Assessment, the Adviser will make recommendations and guide your award pathway to ensure you are undertaking activities that compliment your studies and future career options.

All of the activities undertaken on the award are to be evidenced using the Evidence Booklet provided - you will be given this booklet at the Induction.

Once you have registered and completed your Pathway Assessment, activities can be completed in any order. You can even backdate activities you have completed since the start of your degree. You will need all of your activities completed and signed off in your evidence booklet to present at the Careers and Employability Centre in order to book your Pathway Reflection and Interview Experience.

All activities must have taken place since you started university.

You can use 40 hours of any of these activities

  • ANY work experience, part time job or volunteering
  • Participating in any employer mentoring scheme
  • Any form of representative role e.g. Course Rep or School Rep
  • Holding a committee level position in a club or society (e.g. president, treasurer etc.) - however simply participating/playing in a team or group does not count.

If you would like confirmation that an activity can be counted towards the Award please visit the Careers and Employability drop-in.

Activities are available for every subject and selected in partnership with your academics.

At your Pathway Assessment the Adviser will discuss your options and make a recommendation.  This will be based on your area of study, experience and career aspirations.  These activities may be part of your course or optional sessions run in your subject area.

For your 2 chosen activities you can choose from any of the events listed on the ACTIVITY DATES page of the website. Alternatively if you are attending any optional activity that is related to skills development or employability (on campus or externally) you can have this verified to use as part of the award. If you are unable to attend a chosen activity that you are booked onto, you must give us at least 2 working days notice of your cancellation so that we can offer your place to another student. If you have paid a deposit for a course and fail to give notice of cancellation you will not be entitled to a refund.

For further details please visit the Careers and Employability Centre.
