Activity Dates

This section of the website is devoted to live Q&A sessions with our own advisers or external employers. We will promote the Live Q&A’s in advance and you can also access session archives below.

  • All the activities listed on this page count as 1 Chosen Activity each (unless indicated otherwise). Next term’s dates will be announced shortly. For further information please email lincolnaward@lincoln.ac.uk or come to the Careers and Employability Centre.

First Aid Courses

  • There are currently no dates available for First Aid. Please keep checking back for new dates.

COST: £20

  • This three hour course is delivered by Singleton’s Associates and will cover basic First Aid training, with a certificate issued to completers at the end of the course..
  • Attendance on this course will count as 1 chosen activity.
  • Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
  • If you are unable to attend a course that you have booked onto, you must let us know with a minimum of 48 hours notice so that we can offer the space to somebody else. If you do not attend or fail to give us 48 hours notice of your cancellation, you will not be entitled to a refund.

TO BOOK: Come to the Careers and Employability Centre (Monday-Friday, 10am-3pm, upstairs in the SU) and pay the £20 course fee to secure your space. The £20 must be paid in exact cash as we cannot issue change and do not accept card payments

 

Sign Language Courses 

  • There are currently no dates available for Sign Language. Please keep checking back for new dates.

COST:  £0 (£5 REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT REQUIRED)

  • This two hour course is an introduction to British Sign Language, delivered by the Pelican Trust.
  • Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. Attendance on this course will count as 1 chosen activity. If you are unable to attend a course that you have booked onto, you must let us know with a minimum of 48 hours notice so that we can offer the space to somebody else. If you do not attend or fail to give us 48 hours notice of your cancellation, you will not be entitled to a refund.

TO BOOK:  Come to the Careers and Employability Centre (Monday-Friday, 10am-3pm, upstairs in the SU) to book onto a Sign Language course and pay a £5 deposit and complete an enrolment form to secure your place. The £5 deposit must be in £5 notes only, as we cannot issue change or accept card payments. The deposit will be refunded to you on attendance of the course.

 

If you would like to take part in a future course please email lincolnaward@lincoln.ac.uk to be added to the waiting list to be alerted about future courses.

 

Careers Events

Any events run by Careers and Employability can be counted as 1 chosen activity. There are many workshops to choose from and regular employer presentations. See the full list of events and how to book here.

 

Self Employment Workshops

The Student Enterprise Service are running a series of FREE to attend workshops for students interested in Entrepreneurship and Self Employment or just looking for transferable skills that employers want!

Booking terms and conditions

If you need to cancel your place on any of our activities, you must give us at least 2 working days’ notice (unless in an emergency). Our working days are Monday to Friday.

Please be aware that for any activities that carry a booking deposit or fee such as Sign Language or First Aid, we cannot guarantee that you will be refunded if you cancel your place after placing the deposit or fee.

If we are able to reallocate your place, you will be contacted via email in regards to the instructions for collecting your refund.
