Policing Internships 2019 with Lincolnshire Police

More information about the 2019 Policing Internships on offer-

The main role of the Policing Intern is to provide research, development and administrative support to departments within Lincolnshire Police and the Police Crime Commissioner. There are two interns in the Strategic Development Department within Lincolnshire Police Force and there is two interns working in the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner.

As an Intern within the Strategic Development Department your role will be to assist the Continuous Improvement Unit on a large variety of operational related research tasks. Often carrying out work/research which other departments want to do, but do not have time or available resources to do so.  Examples of projects include, improving force wellbeing, analysing the benefits of Mobile Data and force demand tracking. In this role you will complete work for a variety of senior colleagues within Lincolnshire Police. Some of projects completed by the Interns are for the Chief Officer Group, the Head of Crime, the Force Control Room Superintendent, Operational Inspectors and Sergeants.

The Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) is a separate organisation which controls the police funding and holds the Chief Constable and Lincolnshire Police to account for their performance. Day to day tasks as a Policing Intern in the PCC office include distribution and note actions in meetings including team briefing, corporate finance, resource and performance governance. Projects within the PCC office have included, Mental Health strategy, Road safety, Policies and Procedures, summarise national reports on Forensic services, National Police Air Service, Cyber and Fraud profiles, Scam Awareness Sessions, Writing performance reports, Arranging Modern Slavery and Cyber Security Events.
